Frequently Asked Questions

How do I join my first class?

Since classes are on a drop-in basis, you don’t need to register. Simply arrive at the studio 10 minutes early. Your very first class is free!

Do I need any previous ballet experience?

Not at all! Our ‘absolute beginners’ class is specifically designed for beginners with zero experience in ballet. We focus on basic terminology, posture, and core strength in a supportive, zero-pressure environment. If you’ve never put on a pair of ballet shoes, you are in the right place.

I’m not flexible, can I still take ballet?

This is the most common myth! You don’t need to be flexible to start ballet; we practice ballet to become flexible. We work within your current range of motion to safely improve your mobility over time.

How do I pay for the 5-class or 10-class passes?

The passes are punch cards. You can purchse them directly at the studio via Venmo, Zelle, or Cash. Once you buy a pass, you will bring your card to classes and I will punch your card.

What are the benefits of doing ballet as an adult?

Ballet offers a unique combination of physical and mental benefits that are especially valuable for adults:

  • Postural Alignment: Ballet specifically targets the core and back muscles, helping to counteract the ‘desk slouch’ and improve your daily carriage and balance.
  • Low-Impact Strength: You will build long, lean muscle and improve flexibility without the high-impact stress on your joints often found in other workouts.
