About Me
Hello, and welcome to my page! My name is Clara Park, and I’m so glad you’re here. Ballet has been a lifelong passion of mine, and I’m excited to share that love with others through my adult ballet classes.
I began my ballet journey at the age of three in Korea and danced for over 17 years. My early training led me to the Universal Ballet Academy and Sunhwa Arts Middle School, where I was first introduced to the Russian Vaganova method. After moving to the United States, I had the privilege of studying at Westside Ballet in Santa Monica under the legendary Yvonne Mounsey — a former principal dancer with the New York City Ballet and a direct Balanchine trust. Under her mentorship, I developed a deep appreciation for the Balanchine technique. I was also honored to train at the prestigious School of American Ballet in New York during their summer intensives — the birthplace of the Balanchine style.
I continued my classical training at the San Francisco Ballet School and had the incredible opportunity to perform in several classical ballet productions with the San Francisco Ballet company. Some of my favorite stage experiences include The Nutcracker and Cinderella.
After high school, I pursued my academic interests alongside my passion for dance, earning a BA in Media Communication and a BS in Conservation and Resource Studies from UC Berkeley. While my professional focus expanded, ballet has remained a constant and meaningful part of my life.
For the past 10 years, I’ve dedicated myself to teaching ballet, working with students of all ages and experience levels. With a strong foundation in both the Vaganova technique and the Balanchine method, I bring a balanced, thoughtful approach to my classes — honoring classical tradition while creating a welcoming, supportive space for adult learners.
Whether you’re new to ballet or returning after time away, my goal is to help you reconnect with movement, music, and the joy of dance.
